1978 F150 Stepside 4x4 "Ranger"
Very Rare 1978 F150 shortbed Stepside 4x4 with the premium "Ranger" trim. This 4x4 is rustfree from central California. It was built in San Jose, and has spent it's entire life in sunny dry California. What makes this 4x4 even more unique than being a stepside, is that it has the "Cruisaire" paint and customizing package. Cruisaire was a customizer of new Ford trucks that were marketed through the Ford dealers in the 70's. Cruisaire was based in Gardena California. The upgrade included, special paint, not stickers, chrome steps, chrome push bar, special wheels, and "Cruisaire" emblems on the front fenders, and an ID tag on the drivers bed side. This unique 4x4 was owned by the same man until his passing last year. This 4x4 also features 100% original paint on an unbelievably straight body. The bed is almost perfect. It does have plywood over the original wood floor because some of the original pine has dry rotted. No surprises here, what you see is what you get. This 4x4 is well optioned with the original 351, Automatic, PS, PDB, A/C, etc. The engine is original and still runs ok with no smoke or noises. The trans, brakes, suspension, and exhaust, are all sound. It has the HD 205 transfer case, and Dana 44 front axle. The 4x4 system works fine. The interior is original, and uncut. It needs, a new sear cover, and carpet. It also has a class III hitch. This truck is totally rustfree, with the exception of the bottom front of both rear fenders below the steps. This spot rusts on every stepside. There is a reinforcement on the inside of the fender directly behind that area, that traps debris, and moisture. See pictures.

is a one of a kind truck that is exceptionally clean and unmolested.
This truck is nice in its original patina, but would also be nice
fully restored back to original with two tone brown stripes and all.
This truck is a daily driver that you could hop in and drive anywhere.
